A New Discovery
Emotions can be captured anywhere. It is generally easier to capture them in paintings of humans but what about animals? I consider depicting emotions in animals to be the hardest when it comes to expression-oriented art.
This painting was my take on the challenge, using a famous photograph of a cat and a butterfly as a reference. In this painting, one can see a cat in awe of meeting a butterfly, one which it has just discovered for the first time. The green leaves to the back represent a tone of innocence, intending to add some tranquility to the composition.
